How Google Nano Banana AI Transforms Architecture Design?
In a matter of a few minutes, you will learn how to use Google's Nano Banana to create images, edit images, turn images into 3D models, convert a Google Earth building into a 3D model, turn a simple floor plan into an image, and how to remodel or reimagine your room, home exterior, and landscaping.
How Google Nano Banana AI Transforms Architecture Design?
Nano Banana is a state-of-the-art image generation and editing model created by Google. This is the AI model used for the entirety of this tutorial. The hardest part about writing a good prompt is knowing what you want.
Generate and Edit Images with Google Nano Banana
- Go to studio.google.com. Over on the right hand side, you can read NanoBanana.
- Click into the prompt box and type: Zaha Hadid style home on the edge of a cliff. White organic architecture. There are birds and god rays in the sky.
- Click Run or hold Control and press Enter.
- The user box is the prompt that you input. The model box is the response from the AI.
- Hover over the image to download it or view the full image. In the top right of this box, you can delete the image, branch from here, or rerun.


Edit the image:
- Type: boats in the ocean and more birds in the sky. Change the organic white facade to be completely made out of wood.
- Hold Control and press Enter.
- If you don’t like the weather and clouds, change it to a bright and sunny day.
- Type: Change the weather to be a bright and sunny day.
- Hold Control and press Enter.

Congratulations, you created your first image in Nano Banana and you are able to edit it.
Upload and Edit Your Own Images with Google Nano Banana
- If you already have an image or rendering you’d like to edit, click the plus icon on the right side of the prompt bar. Insert assets such as images, videos, folders, files, or audio.
- Click the plus icon and select Upload file. Upload the image you’d like to edit.
- Example prompt: Change the time of day in the image to be at noon. Bright sunny day with no fog.
- Hold Control and press Enter.

Add activity and decor:
- Type: add a lot of people. Make it the grand opening party for the community center. In the middle of the image, there are colorful balloons in the sky.
- Hold Control and press Enter.

Image to 3D Model with Google Nano Banana
Create a source image:
- Type: domed earth home in the desert. There are circular windows and the home has two stories in some rooms. Aerial drone shot. High quality architecture rendering.
- Hold Control and press Enter.
Prepare the image for 3D:
- Tell Nano Banana to remove the entirety of the landscaping so the building is just a simple 3D model with no background.
- Hold Control and press Enter.
- Download the image.

Convert to 3D with Meshy AI:
- Open a new tab and search for Meshy AI. Create an account.
- Go to Workspace at the top, hover, and select Image to 3D.
- Tip: If you pay for Meshy, you can do batch images to 3D by inserting multiple images from different angles to create a more accurate 3D model. It creates a much more accurate 3D model.
- Click in the upload box and upload your image.
- Under Symmetry, select Auto and click Generate.
- On the right hand side, Meshy is generating the 3D model. Click the box to open it.
- Scribe through the boxes to rotate the 3D model and find which one you like the most. Select it and choose Yes for Generate texture. Confirm.
- When texture generation is complete, click it to view your 3D model.

Create 3D Model from Google Earth with Google Nano Banana
Capture multiple angles:
- Search for Google Earth and open it.
- Click New for a new project. Search for the building you want to turn into a 3D model. Example: the Eiffel Tower.
- Click 3D on the bottom right and zoom out until you see it in its entirety.
- Open your snipping tool. Click New and capture an image. Save it in a dedicated folder.
- Hold Shift and click inside of your target. Rotate slightly to get a different angle. Create another snip and save it.
- Continue until you have a 360 of the entire building.

Create a composite with Nano Banana:
- Go to Google AI Studio Nano Banana.
- Click the plus icon in the prompt bar and upload all your screenshots.
- Paste your prompt for combining the views and hold Control and press Enter.
- Nano Banana will create a 3D-looking representation. This image is not 3D itself. It’s a JPEG. Download it.
Convert to 3D with Meshy AI:
- Open Meshy AI, go to Workspace, and select Image to 3D.
- Upload the image that Nano Banana created.
- Set Symmetry to Auto and click Generate.
- After it hits 100%, click it and scribe through the 3D model to see which one is most accurate.
- Click your preferred result. In the popup, set Target poly count to Max, Generate texture to Yes, and confirm.
- After texturing reaches 100%, click the box to view the 3D model. Click and drag to rotate. You can download it in the bottom right.
- At the time of writing it is free to download these models, but it’s likely that they change this over time. If that’s the case, simply search for AI image to 3D model generator, and the workflow is likely very similar.
Floor Plan to Rendering with Google Nano Banana
- Go to Google AI Studio Nano Banana.
- Click the plus icon to upload your floor plan.
- Paste your prompt, edit as needed, and click Run when you’re done.
- Review the building that Nano Banana created. You can make further edits by simply typing whatever you’d like.
- Example: two of the pods to be enclosed with a glass dome. Hit Enter.
Remodel Your Room with Google Nano Banana
Remodel an existing room:
- Click the plus icon, Upload file, and select a photograph of your room.
- Keep architectural elements (window, soffit, wood ceilings) and change furniture to a light wood mid-century modern.
- Example additions: Place abstract unique artwork on the walls.
- Hold Control and press Enter.
- If it only updates some elements, start a new chat for a fresh result.
Design an empty room:
- Start a new chat (plus icon in the top right).
- Click the plus icon in the prompt bar to add a picture of your empty room.
- Fill in the prompt details:
- Design style: Scandinavian furniture.
- Room type: living room.
- Color palette: 2025 interior design trending color palette.
- Key materials and textures: a colorful rug, modern textures, light wood furniture.
- Furniture to include: a couch, coffee table, abstract artwork on the walls, a media console with a TV on it, a colorful modern rug.
- Hold Control and press Enter.

Remodel Your Home Exterior and Landscaping with Google Nano Banana
- Upload a photograph of the exterior of your home using the plus icon in the prompt bar. The more orthogonal and straight-on the photograph is, the better the output.
- Paste your exterior remodel prompt, fill in any blanks, and hold Control and press Enter.
- To change only the planting and outdoor features, create a new chat. Upload the same image, paste your prompt focused on the outdoor areas, and hold Control and press Enter.
- You’ll see that it keeps the house in its original form and just reimagines the planting and outdoor features.
